Simply Onigiri funa dn creative recipes for Japanese rice ballsJapanese rice seasoning powder (furikake) is available at most supermarkets. There are
many kinds of furikake, so choose your favourite and incorporate it into your onigiri. This is a colourful, nutritious and quick snack to prepare!

  • Yield: 8 Servings


  • 17 oz (480 g) Cooked Japanese short grain rice
  • 8 tablespoon Japanese rice seasoning (furikake)
How to Make It
  1. Place cling wrap in a rice bowl and scoop one-eighth of rice into bowl. Pull out rice together with cling wrap and gently press rice into your preferred shape.
  2. Pour furikake powder onto a fl at dish. Remove cling wrap and roll rice balls over furikake powder to coat evenly. Repeat with the remaining ingredients.
