So simple, yet so delicious! If you like grilled onions but have never grilled green onions before, you will wonder why you never thought of it before. They’re easy to maneuver on the grill and are delicious when layered in a taco or just popped into your mouth.

  • Yield: 8 Servings

Ingredients

  • 2 bunches green onions, dark green tops and roots trimmed
  • Canola or olive oil
  • Salt and black pepper
How to Make It
  1. Grill the green onions heat your grill to high (550°F) and close the lid. Wait at least 15 minutes before lowering the heat to medium-high (450°F) and continuing.
  2. Cut an 8-inch piece of aluminum foil and set aside next to the grill. Place the green onions on the grill and cook for 4 minutes, or until you see grill marks appear on the onions. Flip the onions over and cook for an additional 4 minutes. Place the cut piece of foil on one side of the grill. Using tongs to pick up the onions, place the green tops on the foil (leave the thicker white parts directly on the grill) and continue grilling the onions for an additional 4 minutes per side.
  3. Remove the onions from the grill, place on a platter, and serve.
