Catalan fish stew recipe

A delectable fish dish Spanish style. Serve with some good bread.

Ingredients

  • 3 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 chopped onion
  • 1 chopped red chili
  • 1 cup sliced chorizo
  • 3 minced garlic cloves
  • 1 tbsp ground fennel seeds
  • ½ tsp sweet paprika
  • 1 tsp saffron strands
  • 4 chopped fresh tomatoes
  • 1 cup fish broth
  • ½ cup white wine
  • 1 lb cleaned clams
  • 1 lb bass cut into bite-sized pieces
How to Make It
  1. Heat the olive oil in a pot and then sauté the onion, red chili, sausage, garlic and fennel seeds for 5 minutes.
  2. Add the paprika, saffron and fresh tomatoes and stir for 4 minutes.
  3. Pour the broth in and wine and bring the liquid to a boil.
  4. Lower the heat to a simmer. Let simmer for 15 minutes.
  5. Stir in the seafood. Simmer for 5 minutes, until the clams open and the bass is flaky.
