Lemon apple pie recipe

  • 9” in diameter pie crust (pastry shell)
  • 1 lemon, sliced
  • 4 tbsp lemon zest
  • 6-7 sweet Gala or Fuji apples, peeled and grated
  • 1 cup of sugar
  • 5 tbsp liquid honey
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • half tsp cloves, ground
  • 5 oz unsalted butter
How to Make It
  1. In a saucepan, combine the apples, sugar, butter, cinnamon, lemon zest and cloves and stew for 20 min. over low heat with the closed lid. Pour the honey over the mixture when it is ready.
  2. Spoon the mixture into the pastry shell and place the sliced lemon on top, bake in the oven for 50 min.
