Zurich apple pie recipe

  • 5 apples, peeled and cubed
  • 1 cup of wheat flour
  • 1 cup of sugar
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • half tsp salt
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • half cup hazelnuts
  • 3 oz unsalted butter
How to Make It
  1. Preheat the oven to 280˚-300˚ Fahrenheit and roast the hazelnuts for 5 min until golden brown. Then coat the pie pan with the butter and leave it in the oven to melt the butter.
  2. Beat the eggs with the sugar using a hand mixer until the mixture becomes foamy and grows in volume at least two times.
  3. Add the flour and beat the eggs mixture for 10 min. more. Then mix in the baking powder, salt, cinnamon, vanilla and stir in the roasted hazelnuts.
  4. Place the cubed apples into the pie pan and slightly pour the flour and eggs mixture over the apples.
  5. Place the apple pie into the oven and bake for 50 min. to serve with the berries jam.
