Ingredients

  • Waffle iron
  • Cinnamon
  • Waffle mix (We use blueberry waffle mix or buttermilk)
  • Dixie chicken fry or seasoned flour or chicken fry
  • Mustard
  • 2 tablespoons Bay seasoning
  • Corn oil
  • Deep fryer
  • Seasoning salt
  • Tony's cajun seasoning
  • Chicken
  • Butter or cooking spray
  • Fresh strawberries
  • Powdered sugar
How to Make It
  1. Mustard is the key! Don’t ask questions!
  2. First clean the chicken. Rinse it and all that, then take some mustard and coat it and massage it. Add your seasoning. Season your flour if you don’t have dixie friend. Use pepper and seasoning salt.
  3. Then take a grocery bag and double it up, put your flour/chicken fry in the bag. Make sure your chicken is fully coated - crevices in the wings and all. Can’t miss no parts because when you fry it’ll be blotches. Take about 8 pieces at a time, tie the bag up and SHAKE AND BAKE! Press your pieces in deep and make sure every corner is covered in flour and then you shake it up. Use one hand to throw the chicken in the deep fryer and one hand to take it out of the flour so you don’t cross-contaminate or mess up the oil, because you’ll keep dropping in it.
  4. Make sure the oil is at least like 4 something. You want to make sure the deep fryer is at its max temperature to ensure your chicken is crispy as fuck, like the yo’ outfit on the first day of school! Fry the chicken until it floats. Once it floats to the surface, it’s done.
  5. Then put it on a baking rack and keep it elevated in open air.
  6. Follow the waffle instructions, but add cinnamon to your mix. That’s what we do. Water and waffle mix and cinnamon. It’s not no way to make this shit sound fancy, cuz. It’s really simple. Use melted butter instead of spray - spray is healthier but butter tastes better.
  7. You can top with fresh diced strawberry and powdered sugar if you’re trying to impress somebody.
